Expanding Access Through Team and Community Partnerships

Jr. NBA Summit

I had the incredible opportunity to speak at the Jr. NBA Summit on a session titled “Expanding Access Through Team and Community Partnerships.” It was more than just a panel—it was a powerful moment to shine a light on how true collaboration between professional teams and grassroots organizations can expand access and change lives.

I was proud to share the stage with my Brooklyn Nets family to discuss the unique ways we’ve partnered to support girls in sports—partnerships rooted not just in branding or philanthropy, but in shared values, intentionality, and impact.

At PowerPlay, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all programming. And neither do the Nets. Together, we’ve co-created experiences that not only elevate girls as athletes but also as future leaders—on the court, in the classroom, and beyond. From mentorship and exposure opportunities to reimagining what belonging looks like in historically exclusive spaces, our partnership is proof that when teams and communities work side by side, real equity becomes possible.

This conversation was a reminder that sports are one of the most powerful tools we have to build bridges. And when those bridges are backed by authentic, community-first partnerships, they don’t just lead to new opportunities—they create new futures.

Grateful to the Jr. NBA for holding space for this conversation and to all the organizations and teams doing the work behind the scenes to make youth sports more inclusive, more equitable, and more transformative.
